Exhibitions and Prizes

As well as exhibitions in London, New York and Berlin, Nikki has been selected as a finalist for a number of awards and prizes. Her work featured in the National Portrait Prize at The National Portrait Gallery 4 times in the past 5 years. Images from her portrait series Incline featured on 2 separate occassions. As well as exhibition work, Nikki undertakes private commissions and her work is held in private collections worldwide.

Roller

Roller Girl a new project inspired by 19th Century Military Portraits. The sitter places themselves within the realm of the Roller Girl ready for battle. The war portrait does not only represent the sitter, but is also a historical marker of dress, culture and body armour from that era. The image of Lucky Day has been selected for the National Photographic Prize 2012 which will be on show from March 16th 2012 at The National Portrait Gallery of Australia..

Skater2

The Skater image of Karina Espinoza; pictured right, shot during the 2009 Californian shoot was a finalist in the Australian National Photographic Prize. Nikki has traveled to Rome, London, Prague, Berlin, USA and around Australia shooting the Skater Book. The project, Skater: Portraits by Nikki Toole will be on show at The National Portrait Gallery of Australia from February 16th until May 2nd 2012. Visit Site.
